An incredibly rare dress-jacket circa 1967 from the V de V label of French designer/filmmaker Michele Rosier who, as an aside, was playfully coined "Queen of Vinyl" for her use of the material. Rosier pioneered the Spaceage aesthetic, and this piece certainly has that military futuristic feel, in pink tissue lamé shot through with mauve and gold for wonderful iridescence. Only gently fitted, but with O-ring buckled belt to draw the waist in as desired, which is housed in a channel around waistline. The buttoned front fastens through high quality bound buttonholes, and long sleeve finishes at elasticated wrist. Unlined, I have included a 1967 Elle Magazine cover featuring Jean Shrimpton in Rosier lamé raincoat bearing similarities to this piece, and some other examples from the label last.
